Filming
We wanted an intimate setting for the speed dating scenes, like it would be in a real speed dating event. As well as this, due to it's confined space. It made it easier to shoot and made the day easier as there weren't big camera location changes.
Why a Comedy?
We decided to create a comedy because the age of our audience is 18-30. I don't think the majority of people our age would want to watch a soul-crushing drama on loneliness and elderly mental health diseases. So, we decided to give it a comedic twist to not only entertain people but inform them.
Complexity of filming
We found that using different types of lighting didn't give the "mockumentary" realistic feeling we were looking for. So we decided to not use any lights except for the lights in the room. It gave it a much more realistic feeling and heightened the feel of our production immmensley.
